'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'Regardless of recent concerns with the levels of violence, fears over the Swine Flu pandemic, and a rough cut of the film being leaked weeks in advance, once again, Marvel’s franchise mutant has proved that he continues to be the best there is at what he does — and what he does is draw a crowd.

As the number-crunchers over at Fox count up receipts towards an official Friday total, reliable sources tell Nikki Finke’s Deadline Hollywood Daily that “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” has opened up to an estimated $35 million on Friday night. Meanwhile, should movie-goers keep up this pace through Sunday, the Snikt!-fest could potentially rake in a jaw-dropping $90M total for its opening weekend, easily making it one of the most successful comic book film debuts of all time.

Keep it locked to Splash Page throughout the weekend as we continue to follow the figures for the opening weekend of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”
