SHOOT: I have a feeling DEADPOOL will be resuscitated. But hopefully Jackman will allow a darker and bloodier version where Wolverine does battle with some of the mighty (and downright terrifying) villains mentioned below.
Anyone who’s read the comics, seen the movies or tuned in for the cartoons knows that Wolverine’s greatest enemies fall into three categories: Victor Creed (Sabretooth), corrupt government officials and his own inner demons. All three of those will be making appearances in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” which premieres this week.
But what about the future? What other baddies from the comics should be brought in to fight the clawed Canuck?
SILVER SAMURAI: Ken Harada was the illegitimate son of Shingen Yashida, a Yakuza crime lord, and half-brother to Mariko Yashida, whom Wolverine fell in love with. An expert in hand-to-hand combat born with the mutant power to charge any object with energy (such as the sword he wields), Ken became the mercenary warrior known as the Silver Samurai.
OMEGA RED: Arkady Rossovich was a deadly and remorseless killer in the Soviet Union who later became a test subject to create a super-soldier. After much experimentation, Arkady was transformed into Omega Red.
